THE WIZARD OF OZ-HD PRESENTATION ON TBS TONITE

I watched the WIZARD OF OZ on the above station via satellite tonight on my Toshiba Regza 37 inch set. I cannot be sure, but I believe this print shown would be from the new print that would be selling on the blue ray edition. Videowise, I was not impressed at all. That is because I found myself getting alot of eyestrain watching this movie. I have watched this film before in black and white and color and never had this feeling before. So IMHO, there is something wrong here.

On the same token, I understand that the sound engineers reconstruced a stereo audio track from mono elements. On that end, from what I heard over my two speakers on my tv set, I heard a superb job of sound for a 1939 film. The opening tornado scene's winds sweeped across the screen and whistled around me in my easy chair. The sounds of the muchkins were across the sound field and a you are there feeling. Kudos to Warners on this for doing such a stupendous job of making this film sound so great as it should.
